About My Brand
I affectionately reflect on how four wild decades of diverse interests and experiences led me to tattooing. My passion for creative self-expression spans many mediums. I have a strong background in photography, both in front of and behind the lens, graphic design, and customer service.
I discovered my passion for photography at G.C.V.I. high school in 1996. I have had the opportunity to shoot a diverse array of subjects and events throughout my career; this includes everything from intimate boudoir sessions and awesome punk shows to countless hip hop performances. I've also captured beautiful portraits, unforgettable weddings, serene landscapes, fun family gatherings, wild parties, adorable pets, and even a prestigious commercial award ceremony. Each experience has enriched my skills and artistic vision, allowing me to approach photography with a unique perspective. My first job spanned 11 years at a local camera shop, where I developed my deep passion for photography and built meaningful relationships with customers and colleagues alike. I enjoyed selling cameras, and processing 120 mm & 35 mm film. I led the digital department for years, digitizing photos and negatives, digitally restoring images, and graphic design. I also assisted families in organizing photo collections for end of life celebrations, weddings, and birthdays. Being a supportive presence for people as they navigate the many highs and lows of life has always been my strong suit.
I needed change so I parted ways with that job, bought a motorcycle, and joined Canada’s longest running adult shop. Starting as seasonal part-time, I quickly stepped into the position of store manager, a role I embraced with enthusiasm and dedication, and I proudly maintained that position for over five years. I truly loved engaging with our diverse customers and supporting them in exploring the many intricate facets of themselves. This journey often included themes of self-acceptance, gender-affirmation, and the important process of releasing feelings of shame and guilt, all of which contributed to fostering a greater sense of connection with themselves and their relationships.
I started my tattoo collection in 2005 after meeting the owner of Inksmith Tattoos while working at the camera shop. We became fast friends. I started working for her back in 2017 as a counter girl after stepping out of my previous role as Manager when I decided to focus on the most important job in my world, motherhood. It was time to embrace the new chapter in my life. I helped greet clients and calm their nerves, book tattoo and piercing clients, assisting the artists as needed, cleaning, coffee runs, answering any phone or in shop inquiries, and anything else that needed to be done.
I did my first tattoo in 2018 and fell in love. It was a cute sheet ghost I named Ghost Malone on a good friend and fellow tattoo artist. With their encouragement, I worked on my drawing and design techniques and landed my apprenticeship in 2020 but was halted due to the Covid 19 lock down. I started tattooing as an apprentice in the summer of 2021, once we were finally able to reopen. It was a crazy time in the world, resulting in more people wanting a tattoo. I gained tons of valuable experience as we all adjusted to life during the pandemic.
I believe in hard work, accountability, and personal growth. I handle life's challenges head on. Life can be beautiful and at times, difficult. I embrace the duality.
I approach tattooing as a form of therapy in a holistic sense. A session can be cathartic and healing. Getting to facilitate this space means the world to me.
Since 1982, I've had many experiences. I joke that I have the wisdom of a 275 year old wizard! Tattooing lets me connect personally with my clients while I continue to hone my skills. I’m so thankful and passionately devoted to my career. I am exactly where I need to be. Everything has brought me to this point.
I fully embrace the power in chaos and transmute it into love and art.
This is the art of Chaos.
